Lyrics
I woke up this morning I wanted to sleep late
Yeah that damn alarm clock it's the one I really hate
I could smell my own breath in the air it reaaly stunk
Almost like that of an old drunk
Yeah I saw one on the corner the other day
He was trying to do something maybe trying to pray
He kept drinkling some cheap wine the bottle was in a brown bag
Then I saw his lady she was an old hag
And I felt so bad.
I walk through the streets and what I see
Becomes a pool of despair in my mind
I can't help to think that in my easy life
There's just someone three steps behind
Who can't get a job because of the life
That he was born into
I went down to city hall to buy a bus token
And when I got on the bus there was a little kid smoking
And I thought if the kid's parents really cared
Then I thought maybe that cigarette was all that kid had
And I felt so bad.
