Story Behind The Song
A newspaper reported an incident which deeply affected me. A homeless couple in a small Maine town, several years back, was found with a dead infant in their trailer. The death was either a homicide, or through neglect. Her name was so lovely, and the circumstances so profoundly strange and enigmatic, that I wanted to find a way to express how I felt about it, hoping to touch the hearts of others, as well.
Song Description
Try to imagine how this tiny infant, whose life had been cruelly taken, might view this world that she is now denied? What is our mission, as those who survive her, who want to make her little example mean something? Can such a tragedy be redeemed?

Lyrics
Faith St. Yves--
Lovely name, lovely baby you must have been.
Maybe they just didn't see you looking with trust, and wonder
At the new world they brought you to;
Should we forgive for you?
Where are the warm summer days when your heart should have soared?
What have we done to let the world grow so cold
For the young and for the old?
Faith St. Yves--
How can we let you know that somebody grieves?
As we stand looking at one another around your tiny tombstone,
Wondering what to do;
Should we forgive for you?
What's that you're saying, your voice seems so faint and so small?
"Value the valueless. Live for the priceless. Then, you will see:
You can have faith, though you can't have me."
