If I had a voice like an angel you know I would sing out all the time If I could, I would try to change it But the only voice I've got is mine

If I could play music like a maestro Lord, I would make the people sing and dance But it seems the places where my mind goes means the dancers may not get their chance

You see, I believe that music has the power to change our world in ways we can't conceive so though talent barely fills and hour I'll try to do my best before you leave

If my fingers flew like virtuosos' maybe I could turn a head or two but I don't always know where all the notes go and sometimes I can't play them when I do

Yes there are many skills I'm sadly lacking and I guess what I've been told, it must be true that I will never have financial backing no matter how much I try and improve

So what I do is really rather basic I just try and write pure words that touch your soul and if you find some meaning in my lyric then at least I know I've touched one simple goal
