Story Behind The Song
Ganja barely scratches the surface of a larger picture. Harry Anslinger was a commissioner and founding member of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics (FBN). With the help of the chemical company DuPont (paint, chemicals and textiles) and media mogul W.R. Hearst, they developed a series of scare tactics and ultimately lied to Congress about marijuana. The truth is, marijuana was named America's next cash crop by Popular Science magazine, and threatened to uproot several textile, chemical (hemp seed oil for food, fuel and natural chemicals) and forestry industries. All men had large investments in these industries and found personal profit by turning away viable alternatives to deforestation and synthetic chemical development. It's not herese, nor a conspiracy theory; it's what really happened.

Lyrics
Ooooh, Ganja
Some they say
"Why'd they take my choice?...
My way of life if my freedom's voice"
If the government cared about your health
Cigarettes and liquor would be off the shelf
Propaganda feeds the hungry beast
That government is best which governs least
Oooh, Ganja
(Some we say)
Some they say,
"Why'd they take my choice?"
Back in the day, the people had no voice
In 1937 the FBN
Harry Anslinger and some shady men
They lied to Congress saying marijuana kills
Cause hemp fibers threathened their paper mills
