Story Behind The Song
I wrote this one quite a few years ago. It was inspired by and directed toward a couple of holier than thou people who looked down their nose at every one. It was thanksgiving and they were the only ones who didn't help with the dishes.

Lyrics
Let me live the way I want to
let folks like me for what I am
I don't want to have to hide things
if you don't like me scram
don't pray for me good Christian
cause I don't play a part
in your hypocritical circus
from the book and not the heart
(chorus)
what good is apple pie
if you don't eat it
what good is faith
if you don't live it
what good is knowing
the good book part by part
if you learn it in your mind
but you don't teach it to your heart
I went to church each Sunday
till the good folks
put me down
they said we don't
like your lifestyle boy
please don't come around
you'll never get to heaven
and we all know it well
so I told them more than likely
that I?d see them all in hell
(chorus)
now I know that god is watching
every move I make
I know he knows
what's in my heart
the hurt, the love and the hate
I know that he forgives me
for the faults that he must see
for the proof is in the way
that he takes good care of me
(chorus)
