Story Behind The Song
In college we lived in a double wide trailer on a Chicken Farm that we called Chicken House. This was one of the most disgusting places a person could live. There were holes in the roof, the floor, the windows and the walls. The landlord's solution to fixing these holes would be to get a Speed Limit sign from the road and lay it down over a hole in the floor. The stairs leading up to the front door were clearly made of scraps of wood from various places. They were slapped together and just stable enough that people could remain upright if they held the railing. Amazingly there was working electricity, phone and plumbing though none of those things worked optimally. There was also an incredible amount of character to Chicken House that led to numerous amazing experiences, some of which ended up as part of drumfish songs.
One day it was raining really hard and because of the "holes in the roof" there were 7 or 8 pots and buckets strategically placed in order to catch as much of the leakage as possible. Alex and Larry were sitting in the middle of the house wearing only boxers, in one of the few dry spots, and the song "Another Rainy Day" was written. We always liked the rain at Chicken House despite that fact that it made its way into our living space. Often we would go outside and let ourselves get completely soaked. This song carries that sentiment. It's kind of a tribute to the rain and embracing the moments in life when you decide to just go for something that you'd previously been nervous about. The idea of letting yourself get covered in rain, rather than running for cover is an analogy for taking a leap and asking out a girl who you'd previously been nervous about.

Lyrics
I listen to the water as it's falling on my house
And the rain comes through the hole in my roof
I get up out of bed on a Sunday afternoon
Make my way across my room
Something about the way the rain comes down
I'm feeling real good on another rainy day
I see you once again as we pass on the street
Superficial smiles and still we've yet to meet
Life's too short today I think may be the day
I'm gonna take a chance and I will say
Something about the way the rain comes down
I'm feeling real good on another rainy day
It's just the way I see the world I guess
(It's nothing new)
It's just the way I see the world I guess
(When I see you)
It's just the way I feel when the rain comes down
It's just the way I see the world I guess
I need you
So we get to talking and we grab a bit to eat
Your hand in mine and a kiss on the cheek
We're moving kind of fast but that's alright with me
Someone like you could make my life complete
Something about the way the rain comes down
I'm feeling real good on another rainy day
Tell me what you're thinking when you look that way
I'll tell you what I'm thinking on this rainy day
Come with me, sit by the water, watch the rain
The water from the sky will always fall the same
Something about the way the rain comes down
I'm feeling real good on another rainy day
It's just the way I see the world I guess
(It's nothing new)
It's just the way I see the world I guess
(When I see you)
It's just the way I feel when the rain comes down
It's just the way I see the world I guess
I need you
That's the way I feel when the rain comes down
