Elijah asked the people, how long will you stay
Between these two opinions, so choose your god this day
If the Lord is God then follow Him, if Baal then go his way
Then no one spoke a single word, no one had a thing to say

He cried out build an altar, and I will build one too
You to your god, me to mine, and then we'll see the truth
Whoever sends the fire down, he's the god we'll serve
Then the people cried out it is well to all Elijah's words

Fire came down, and burned up everything around
Elijah's offering was nowhere to be found
The Lord He is God they cried as they fell down to the ground
God made His presence known that day
When His holy fire came down

They called out to their false gods, from morning until night
They danced around and cut themselves, cried out with all their might
No flames ever came to them, no fire fell to the ground
Then Elijah said come near to me, get ready to bow down

Elijah then cired out to God, Lord hear me as I pray
I Your servant did these things according to Your way
Turn their hearts back to You that they may be restored
Let them see once and for all, You are the Lord of Lords

Fire came from Heaven according to Elijah's words
The people all fell to the ground from what they saw and heard
God blessed His chosen prophet and brought glory to His name
The people then came back to Him, He took away their shame
