Dim Days

Story Behind The Song

When I wrote this song, I was very depressed. It was one of those tunes that just came in about 30 minutes and almost instantly created itself.

Song Description

The song is about forcing oneself out of the darkness of addiction and/or depression. It is about finding one's own light to ultimately bring light to the world.

Lyrics

Today I stared down the sun
Caring not if I stared too long
Let it burn my eyes 'til I went blind
I swear I've never been more alive
turn the light on my dim days
And let it burn 'til there is no pain
Kill the night and bring the dawn
and let it burn on everyone
I prey that I am strong enough
To face the things that I hide from
It's something I have always known
Something that I could not let go
turn the light on my dim days
And let it burn 'til there is no pain
Kill the night and bring the dawn
and let it burn on everyone
