Story Behind The Song
A tribute to my two sons who are in the Air Force and Navy and who are both great young men. Both are Eagle Scouts and were altar boys and graduated from Magnet High Schools. I was thinking about them and had a project to write a song for a class I was taking. Woke up one morning with this song.

Lyrics
HE'S MY HERO
(Dale Allen)
He rode an all-night train to meet me
That time I flew into Milan
And learned enough of that new language
For us to eat and get around
Now he rides a Black Hawk copter
Over Bagram and Kabul
And says, "Aw Hell, it's nothing'
Lots of other guys do too"
He's fightin' for the USA
Ten thousand miles away
He's my hero; He's my hero
He tried my patience more than once
But I truly love the man that he's become
He's my hero - he's my son
He learned to play guitar
So he could pick with me a while
It's so cool even though
He plays a little different style
He rode a bike to college every day
Twenty miles through snow and rain
He said, "Don't worry dad.
It's just helping me to train"
Now he wears a uniform with pride
And I'm proud to stand by his side
CHORUS
(There were times when he was young...)
He's an Eagle Scout, an altar boy
His sister's best friend, and his mama's pride and joy
CHORUS/TAG: He's my hero; He's my hero......
