Story Behind The Song
One of the writers had the line "Hammered and Nailed" and didn't know what to do with it. We had three hours before he had to catch a plane so we just started throwing ideas back and forth.. No idea where each section was going until it got there.

Lyrics
HAMMERED AND NAILED
(Bob McCormick, Dale Allen, Bill Flowerree)
Hammered and nailed
I staggered and failed the test by the side of the road
My wife said, "Go to Hell
Make your own bail"
That's what you get when you get hammered and nailed
Got hammered at the bar
Then got in my car -- drove down the wrong side of the road
Got nailed by a cop
Before I'd gone a block
He said, "Son, you're a fool who ain't learned when to stop"
As I was led to my cell
A man standing in the hall
Hung his head and he cried
A child would still be alive
If he didn't drink and drive
That's when I saw the light
Hammered and nailed
I knelt down and wailed "Lord, if you love drunkards and fools"
Please forgive all I've done
Through your only Son
Who came down to earth and got hammered and nailed
