Story Behind The Song

I have loved this song, the soundtrack from the movie of the same name, all my life. My father had this recording of Percy Faith and His Orchestra, among a whole LP entitled, "Music From Hollywood". The authors, lyricist Paul Francis Webster & composer, Bronislau Kaper, were among the very best musicians, during the 30's,40's & 50's, and composed and wrote for so many great films. This song, "Invitation", "Green Dolphin Street", are just two among others composed by Bronislau Kaper, which have been recorded by so many varied artists, and have become jazz classics, as well. This version is a bit too high of a register for me to do the song justice, but I wanted to share their work, and Percy Faith's lush recording of this beautifully haunting song.
