Lyrics

Flatbelly

(c) 2003, words and music, Colleen Coadic

the self you wear?s a worn out dress
chosen not to look your best
desperate to hide all the shame
shapeless like the life you frame
the mirror greets you hopefully
you hold your breath and make believe
perfection tortures every minute
flatbelly freedom
you?re not in it

chorus: everybody?s perfect little me
would be perfect if I could be alone to just be free
from your name calling your profit line your fears erased
just leave me to my perfect face
my rightful place
not yours

explored exploited then ignored
willpower meets my world of wars
testament to what I?ve known
now trying to find my own way home - not yours

chorus:

which color is the best for me
wild eyed vamp chic thin heroin
what style must I be emulating
to stay atop the crap prevailing

chorus:
