Story Behind The Song
This is kinda of a retro Summer Of Love stoner tune with Zakir Hussain on tabla. It's about having a nice stoner day flying kites and digging friends and family.
It was recorded at Wally Heider's Studio in San Francisco and was done in......wait..... ONE TAKE and we never rehearsed the song. I told Zakir that I had this song we could try and asked if he wanted to practice it.... He said, "No, just start it and I will play along". NO kidding. When we finished we had to hold back the laughter and I said, "That was easy". So, we did a different song.

Children come from behind the rocks
Music, come from behind the wind
The wind holds up the kites in the county
So, won't 'cha
Come on, come on, come on, come on down
Tom's kite is the highest above
Bob's kite bears the symbol of love
Cathy's kite is the most free in the sky
So, won't 'cha
Come on, come on, come on, come on down
I've been informed that the baker is dead
And that the banker has gone and lost his head
I think it's clear that we should rule instead
So, won't 'cha
Come on, come on, come on, come on down
We've been here twenty minutes
Seems like a day
I'm alone on a string
Depending upon the wind
I'm relaxed but I feel I'm moving very slow
Am I? I don't know
Am I? I don't know
Am I? I don't know
Now, come down, you can fly my kite
I built it in six hours last night
So that this wind could guide its virgin flight
So, won't 'cha
Come on, come on, come on, come on down
There's a blue one with a long tail
Alone, on a string, depending upon the wind
Climbing, falling, dancing and laughing
So, won't 'cha
Come on, come on, come on, come on down
