Story Behind The Song
This song was written to a friend of mine I once had who was too busy being jealous of her to realize how much I loved her.
I thought we were a team, I looked out for her, had her back to the best of my ability and she was just blinded by envy. She was upset because I got more attention from guys and she was also a musician and very competitive.
I felt hurt, but like I mention in the beginning it was my fault for being so blind. I really did just see what I wanted to see with this one. Oops.
Song Description
This is a soft, slower song with some nice piano supporting the melody. Lots of lower vocal harmonies starting on the second verse.
It builds towards the end as well especially when the drums kick in.

Lyrics
Remember back when you had my back
I guess that never happened I...
I was so blindfolded with nothing holding
Me back from the daylight.
Remember back when you said you were jealous,
of some Indie boy you embellished
Who talked me up then passed you by
Why?
I could have been your wingman
You couldn't see that I didn't want him?
God when girls turn coat for some random guy.
I treated you like a sister
I could see you really missed her
I thought maybe we could all rise.
You are plain, dark, sullen, selfish
I'm a fool who mistook you for helpless.
Take what you snagged you won't
get one more line...
Do do do do do , do do do do do do
Do do do do do do.
Do do do do do , do do do do, do do do do...
I could have been your Wingman.
I could have been your Wingman.
Ahhh...
