Story Behind The Song
She was pretty, well proportioned and highly intelligent. After years of being close friends and occasional lovers, we finally got serious about each other.
She was lovely to me in the beginning and everything was wonderful until one day we had this whopper of an argument and broke up.
I tried to make things right including writing this song, but with little success in the beginning. She gradually warmed up to me, but then she would break it off again. This whole process then repeated itself over and over again for almost a year, sometimes with her breaking up and making up with me more than once in the same day.
Something in her brain where she stored me had short-circuited after that argument and our romance never returned to normal. It was a "grueling" year of emotional ups and downs for me. A truly torturous "Roller Coaster" of a romantic ride if ever there was one. It's been over for some time now, but bruises remain.

Song Description
An up and down, off and on romance of mine from some years ago. It's a tale of this absolutely crazy relationship I was just too enamored with, and way too foolish not to run for my life, even when all my gut instincts told me that her mind was engulfed in flames, and I was never going to be able to extinguish the blaze.

Lyrics
VERSE: 1
ANOTHER DAY DAWNS AND NOW I'M ALONE
SHE'S LEFT ME AGAIN, FOR REASONS UNKNOWN
I TRIED TO FIND OUT JUST WHAT I DID WRONG
HER ANSWER TO ME WAS ANOTHER DIAL TONE
WE HAD BEEN FRIENDS FOR SO MANY YEARS
BUT BEING HER LOVER HAS RAINED ONLY TEARS
SHE SAID THAT SHE NEVER WILL LOVE ME AGAIN
BUT I'M NOT ABOUT TO JUST LET IT ALL END
CHORUS: 1
NEVER IS TOO FAR AWAY
FOREVER'S PRICE IS TOO MUCH TO PAY
STORMY WEATHER IS CLOUDING OUR WAY
OUR LOVE CAN WAIT FOR A FAIR SUMMER DAY
TOGETHER WE BOTH CAN END THIS LONG FIGHT
WHY DON'T YOU GIVE ME YOUR LOVIN' TONIGHT
VERSE: 2
SHE THREW ME OUT OF HER HOUSE LAST NIGHT
I WANTED TO LOVE HER BUT SHE HAD TO FIGHT
I GAVE WINE AND ROSES AND WROTE HER A SONG
SHE TELLS ME GOODBYE, GOOD RIDDANCE BE GONE
I THINK SHE ENJOYS THE PAIN THAT I'M IN
WHY ELSE WOULD SHE WANT TO HURT ME AGAIN
I WANT BACK THE LADY I'VE KNOWN FOR SO LONG
I THINK SHE'S STILL THERE, I HOPE SHE'S NOT GONE
CHORUS: 2
NEVER IS TOO FAR AWAY
FOREVER'S PRICE IS TOO MUCH TO PAY
STORMY WEATHER IS CLOUDING OUR WAY
OUR LOVE CAN WAIT FOR A FAIR SUMMER DAY
TOGETHER WE BOTH CAN END THIS LONG FIGHT
WHY DON'T YOU GIVE ME YOUR LOVIN' TONIGHT
