Story Behind The Song
Inspired by a YouTube video of people dining at an outside cafe' I just started writing about what I saw and how I would feel if I saw a beautiful woman eating by herself...and looked like she needed company.
Song Description
"Wanted Guy" is a warm, cinematic pop ballad about the moment love transforms a man from who he was into who he wants to be. Told through vivid, romantic snapshots; a café window, a garden party lit by hanging lights, the soft fall of her braids; the song follows a narrator who realizes he's "wanted," not by the law or by trouble, but by the woman whose presence reshapes his world.
The verses paint intimate, almost film-like scenes: weathered iron chairs, butterflies drifting past, black dahlias on her dress. Each detail becomes a turning point, revealing how deeply she affects him. The chorus lifts into a confident, dreamy hook where he claims his new identity: a wanted guy; desired, chosen, and finally seen.
As the song unfolds, the relationship moves from chance encounters to shared paths. The bridge widens the lens, celebrating the luck that brought them together and the forward momentum of a love that feels destined. By the final verse, the story becomes a promise: turning pages together, crossing thresholds, embracing the message that love reveals in its own time.
Emotionally uplifting and tender, "Wanted Guy" blends heartfelt storytelling with a hopeful, romantic glow; perfect for listeners who love songs about connection, transformation, and the quiet magic of being truly wanted.

Lyrics
Verse 1
Weathered iron chairs, white napkin resting on her lap,
something in her smile told me I'm never going back.
Orange and white butterflies... black dahlias on her dress,
She made me realize
I'm not the man I used to be,
She's the best
Chorus
I'm a wanted guy; not for trouble, not for crimes,
but her reflection in the café window's got me dreamin' she'll be mine.
I'm just a wanted guy... I can tell she wants me, wants me...
Verse 2
She makes the garden party special where the hanging lights shine,
and her braids fall soft and easy, glowing gold within their light.
And when the crowd dissolves around us, leaving just her heart and mine,
I wrap her coat around her shoulders
like I'm claiming what feels right... for love
Chorus
I'm a wanted guy; not for trouble, not for crimes,
but her reflection in the café window's got me dreamin' she'll be mine.
I'm just a wanted guy... I can tell she wants me, wants me...
Bridge
The whole world around us, the luck that finally found us,
the only path to go is forward straight ahead,
and every step we take as mysteries surround us,
we will take that path to love instead.
Verse 3
Let's turn the page together, every chapter read out loud,
laughing as we chase our dreams through misty wayward clouds.
With luck we'll cross the threshold meant for love's own rite of passage,
and when the moment's right, my love, it will reveal its message... of love...
Outro
I'm just a wanted guy... I can tell she wants me, wants me...
I see it in her eyes...
