Lyrics

Dance Again

Seems I've shoveled sand against the wind all my life. Stepping off that sidewalk curb, I don't look left or right.
Being hit by some old truck can't be all that bad, when Buzzard's luck is the only luck... the only luck I've had.

- But tonight, I'll find a way to dance again. Gonna leave the cold dark shadows, droppin all my chains.
I hear those songbirds singing, singing in the night, telling me that hope is near and never out of sight...never out of sight.

Had a heart full of gold, and now it's full of lead. I was drunk on disappointment and kind words left unsaid.
But every scar's got a story, and every tear's got a song. I've been down so damn much lately, that the sinkin days are gone.

- But tonight, I'll find a way to dance again. Gonna leave the cold dark shadows, droppin all my chains.
I hear those songbirds singing, singing in the night, telling me that hope is near and never out of sight, never out of sight.

Let the past be the past. I'll blaze a new trail,
Even in a raging storm, I'll set my own sail.

From the ashes of failure, the Phoenix rises strong.
With hope as my compass, I'll find where I belong.

I plowed that empty field of broken truth and burnin lies. I turned the dirt that made me hurt; broke it down to size.
If fate likes to gamble; I will up the long shot stakes; wager all my winning dreams to know what victory takes.

- So tonight, I'll find a way to dance again. Gonna leave the cold dark shadows, droppin all my chains.
I hear those songbirds singing, singing in the night, telling me that hope is near and never out of sight, telling me that hope is near and never out of sight......never out of sight...never out of sight.
