Story Behind The Song
I wanted to write a "protest" song. Back from the 60's and 70s. Like - Eve of destruction, or many others. I wanted it to describe the impact to a more mosdest sized world. A scale that we could all related to in our own part of the world.

World is Changing
Music and Lyrics by Dave Barta (2008)
In the mountains there were canyons
And wild places we would go
Where the snowmelt met the springs and creeks
Where a river used to flow
Maybe we waited way too long
Looking back on things gone wrong again
Our world was changing
Well she asked us then, she asked again...
Don't you know
The world we know is changing?
Don't you know-
There's no place else to go?
Walk beside us, or stand behind us
Our world is changing
We got no trappers or miners here
But we got loggers without trees
We got the smog-filled clouds from China blowing
And its getting hard to breathe
And we've been down this road before
Never knowing who was right or wrong
Our world was changing
You know, you know...
Don't you know the world we know is changing?
She say don't you know there's no place else to go?
Walk beside us, or stand behind us
Our world is changing
We all have our history here
We have stories about the woods
The good fight just like Grandpa fought
In a world he understood
We would all go out at sunrise
In ghost boats in the fog
Hear the sound of oars in water
Hear the voices one more time
Hear their laughter in the rain
She say, she say...
Don't you know
The world we know is dying?
Don't you know
There's no place else to go?
Stand beside us, stop this madness
Our world is changing-changing...
Our world is changing
