Lyrics

Where the birds sleep-

The birds that have the daylight shift,
the twitterers and singers,
the little hatch, the speedy swift,
and robins, spring's harbingers,
all find a perch when darkness falls,
in ivy growing up on walls
or hidden in the tops of trees,
protected from the cooling breeze.
And there they snuggle up and keep
each other warm and go to sleep.

The heron and the egret,
the willet and the stilt
have hides in places secret,
in clumps of reeds and silt.
With plover, loon and curlew
they rest till morning's dew
lies heavy on each blade of grass
and glints like tiny shards of glass
in early morning's rising sun
to show that day has now begun.

While daytime's birds are fast asleep
the night birds have been working.
The owl has hunted things that creep;
in darkest night he's lurking.
And nightingales have sung all night
they fill the dark with pure delight
in thicket, wood and grove,
while blackbirds trill a song of love
like rippling water turned to song
in early dawn all summer long.

Clean recording, nice 12 string guitar track. Beautiful vocal.

Sounds a lot like Kate, really like the sound of the harmonica and the guitar and of course the voice is superb!

Beautiful piece of work. Love the acoustic guitars, accordion and subtle arrangement. Great work.

I think that both the voice and the melody are quite fresh and charming. The lyrics seem cute too, but my English ear is a bit deaf.
Nice sounds, the arrangement is well-balanced, it doesn't overdo it, and doesn't throw excessive saccharine on the song, the accordion fits in very well, the guitars are very good, especially at the end.
I'd like to hear this in a Disney movie. Julie Andrews could have sung this one.

I especially like the guitar riff at the bridge. Nice vocal.Pretty song with a fine arrangement.Overall I think its great with a nice catchy melody.
