Story Behind The Song
This song started out as an idea to write song about a personal loss. As it was being written it evolved into a remembrance for anyone who lives the holidays thinking of someone who is no longer with them.
Song Description
The song starts with a visual image of trying to deal with the cold and hustle of cold winter holiday preparation as compared to the cold feeling of an empty heart. It is all about the reality of living through the holidays, keeping up the traditions and memories while trying to be strong for someone who is no longer there to share the joy and wonder of the season.

Lyrics
Somewhere else the snow is falling on a cold and blustery day. People struggle through the traffic as they try and make their way. But for me the cold I'm feeling comes from somewhere deep inside. Though your memory still burns in me, the cold is hard to hide.
I'll be missing you at Christmas, as I sit be side the tree. Unwrapping all the presents. The ones you left for me. I'm trying to be happy and I hope that you can see, I'll be missing you at Christmas, missing you at Christmas. But I'll toast the life you lived on New Years Eve,
I've been keeping busy all day long, the radios playing the same old songs. They take me back to thoughts of you and me, I can't believe the year went by so fast. The life we had is in the past. The dreams we had have all been swept away.
I always thought that we'd grow old. So many stories left untold. I never thought I'd be living them all alone. I still hear your voice in the carols we'd sing, still feel the warmth of your lips on my skin, Still feel you in all the places we have been.
I'll be missing you at Christmas, as I sit beside the tree. Unwrapping all my presents. The ones you left for me. And I'm trying to be happy. And I hope that you can see. That I'll be missing you at Christmas, missing you at Christmas. But I'll toast the life you lived on New Years Eve,
The Christmas cards have all been sent. I still have some wrapping left. The decorations are all hung on the tree. The carolers will be here soon, singing all their Christmas tunes. But you not here to laugh and sing along.
Always thought that we'd grow old. So many stories left untold. I never thought I'd be living them all alone. Still hear your voice in the carols we'd sing. Still feel the warmth of your lips on my skin. Still feel you in all the places we have been.
And I'll be missing you at Christmas, as I sit beside the tree. Unwrapping all the presents, the ones you left for me. And I'm trying to be happy and I hope that you can see. That I'll be missing you at Christmas, missing you at Christmas. But I'll toast the life you lived on New Years Eve........
