Lyrics
Peaceful Life
by Cathy Block
A few dozen years behind me, one more nearly done
there's holes in my jeans, and my shoes about walked off
Here in this portrait time is clearly shown
The map it is drawn, but no path is cast in stone
This I've learned
And a decade rolls by,with the blink of an eye
What I have seen, what I have seen
I'm wonderin' when the peace will come
I'm wonderin' when the peace will come
I want to look in my children's eyes
and promise a peaceful life
I've wittnessed a history play itself infront of me
with angry intonations and futile frustrations
The poverty of ignorance was never an excuse
but still it's been responsible for many a good people, dying
And you hope the soul will cleanse itself
and attitudes will change
then you turn on the news to find so much is still the same
Chorus
Some memories you hold on to
Some you just let go
Some will dangle there, drifting off the coast
Where ever life will lead me
my choice will be to grow
and there with my suitcase filled with years
I'm standing tall with hope
So me and the world get another year older
keep those walking shoes, we're still marching
Chorus
