Boy's Night Out

Story Behind The Song

Stephanie and I were having a daddy daughter weekend and were drinking coffee and talking about funny stuff that happens or happened to us. As we turned this around, I grabbed a pen and note paper and started writing down ideas . After brainstorming for a while, I grabbed a guitar and started putting it to music.

Lyrics

What if things were backwards, If life somehow got reversed
If a good time at the bar with my boys, felt more like work

I felt your eyes all over me, then it went from bad to worse
I knew that you were coming over when I heard "Hey girl, watch my purse."
A few of us were dancing and you kept trying to jump in
you think if one of us would talk to you, It would sure impress your friends,

I don't want to smell your perfume, I don't want to touch your hair
If you want to hit on someone, go do it over there
We're just trying to have some fun here, you don't get to take me home
It's Boy's Night Out, can't you just leave us alone.

The bartender rolled his eyes and thought "well here we go again"
but I said Sure I'll take a drink, Can you get one for my friends?
You stopped and thought it over then you got a silly grin
But I know that you're playing in a game that you can't win
Joe'll have an Appletini, Buck a Long Island Iced Tea,
Rick likes his Margaritas, Butch, Pomegranate Daiquiri
Me I like to keep it simple, and I'm trying to stay trim,
I'll have Bud Light in a glass, with Limes around the rim.

(CHORUS)

Well that's really not my address, and Jakes a made up name
And that's not my cell phone number, it belongs to an old flame
I don't want to end up in your hook up hall of fame
You ain't gonna get me to take that walk of shame.

I don't want to smell your perfume, I don't want to touch your hair
If you want to hit on someone, go do it over there
We're just trying to have some fun here, you don't get to take me home
It's Boy's Night Out, can't you just leave us alone.
I'm Hanging with my guys, can't you just leave ME alone
