Story Behind The Song
This was the last thing I wrote before I let go. I was still holding her hand when the room got still. No words, just the sound of something sacred breaking. I walked out with this melody in my head and her name in my throat. I didn't write it for an audience. I wrote it so I wouldn't lose my mind. It's not polished. It's not perfect. But it's true. And it's all I had.
Song Description
"Post-Mortem Lullaby" is the sound of watching someone slip away and realizing grief is patient--it stays. I whispered the verses like I was afraid to wake something that should rest. The music holds its breath with me: heart monitor pulses, soft organ swells, voices that drift in and out like memories trying to hold shape. I didn't write it to be a song--I wrote it because I had to, because sorrow kept singing until I joined in.
