A young voice, a fresh approach to the neo-classic break up song. I loved it, even though I'm not a huge fan of break up songs. The song's message is very clearly presented: he treated her badly, yet she still really loves him and cares for him (worthless dirtbag that he is). The internal rhymes are great (scars on my heart, feel/heal). The you/through rhyme would normally be "overused" but the way she vocalized it made it sound fresh (knocking down the volume on the word through)...great idea. The vocal gets 5 stars for being expressive and passionate. There's just enough grit in the vocal to make it sound so honest. The instrumentation, simple as it is, totally befits the song. I don't see any reason why this song shouldn't have commercial success. Bravo!
Love the catchy piano introduction though it sounds a lot like country. Great vocal work. A well balanced production piece where music and vocals compliment each other well. Nice lyrical presentation.
