Story Behind The Song
I have read a great deal about the origins of Country Music and just wanted to express my feelings about the hardships endured, particularly during the 'dust bowl' but also by the Nation People whose land was rent asunder
Song Description
An intake of breath opens the lead vocal and creates an immediate intimate feel

Lyrics
Bringin' Me Back Home - for all the Dust Bowl People
Song started with the water of life
Sweet sailor song on the homeward tide
A lovin' people spinnin' tales in the evenin' light
Gypsy by his fire at the roadside
Got a feelin' that's somewhere I belong
I hear a moanin' wind pullin' at me strong
Bird callin' a lonesome tune in the cold dawn
Country music bringin' me back home
Pioneerin' is how we called it
We came to the land of the brave and free
Took a wild country, tried to tame it
Hard hunger veiled in sweet melody
Got a feelin' that's somewhere I belong
I hear a moanin' wind pullin' at me strong
Bird callin' a lonesome tune in the cold dawn
Country music bringin' me back home
That music kept starvation held down tight
Played by worn hands that tilled the earth
Sweet longin' prayers in the dust bowl night
It took everythin' they had to know their worth
Guitar solo
In my song I ask forgiveness
For the hunger and the razéd land
Cruel decimation birth'd Country music
Sometimes that's so hard to understand
Got a feelin' that's somewhere I belong
I hear a moanin' wind pullin' at me strong
Bird callin' a lonesome tune in the cold dawn
Country music bringin' me back home
