Lyrics

Tryin' to be the best I can be
Lock 'n load to spread democracy
Days of thinkin' are long gone
I'm a believer, right or wrong
I follow the rules whatever they be
Wall Street 'n D.C. tell me I'm free
Look ma no hands my believin' is good
I'm believin' like a believin' kiss ass should

The world is changin'
'N I'm walkin' the line

Mr. Tax Man tax away
Tax everything in every way
Mr. Banker now look what you found!
More money to make that suckin' sound!
'N if I slip up 'n want to fight
Hero cops know how to make me right
Take me to court 'n give me a cell
Professional enforcers of perpetual hell

The world is changin'
'N I'm walkin' the line

I think there is a different way
By learning from our yesterdays
In finding a better way to live
I look at me in dismay
How I struggle to always stay
In my journey I can't ever say
Why I don't stop caring
'N how it's always daring
To dream

How much more do ya need to loose
Until you realize there's less to choose
Dreams are worth no more than life
Without freedom what good are rights?
So I keep myself lookin' straight
Get in line and take my fate
I'm what you call a new man now
I'm an American but don't ask me how

The world is changin'
'N I'm walkin' the line
The world is changin'
'N I'm walkin' the line

You voice is unusual kept my attention, love the lyrics.. third verse was that hand clap or foot tapping I heard?... wasn't sure I was going to like this but you hooked me in... great ride

This song packs a punch. It's political and kind of funny in a bitter, humorous sort of way. It expresses the frustration a lot of us experience in this crazy world we live in. This is a master lyricist at work. Love this line: Professional enforcers of perpetual hell. This song accomplishes its purpose without taking sides. Tune and instrumentation (kind of honky tonk) are great. Here's an artist who has something to say.

good folk track that would give bob dylan a run for his money
liked the banjo and style of the track and the lyrics are great

very good .. your vocals were honest in a Dylan kind of way.
