Story Behind The Song

The initial trigger for this song was a friend who I could see was jeopardizing the best relationship he had ever had, or was likely to have, largely because he was so self-centered that his main attention was on his needs, and very little on his significant other. He finally recognized his self-inflicted loss, but he had let it go on too long.
