Story Behind The Song
We all have experienced being on those first dates that probably should have ended after five minutes, but we stayed and suffered. It's so important to be ok ending the date before it starts if that's what your heart is telling you. We have watched our family and friends stay in relationships for a multitude of reasons. Do you stay for the kids? Do you stay for the stability even though you are shrinking within the relationship? It just felt like an anthem to those who need to feel the freedom to get themselves out when they can.....
Song Description
The song began as a poem by Jilly, and it was based on terrible dates she went on when younger. If she could have just gotten up and left with that courage she has now, she should have. It's about making that decision to love yourself more than making someone comfortable who is making you miserable. It's about choosing you over choosing to make yourself smaller for someone else.

Lyrics
Walk Home Alone©
Lost on the Metro™ 2024
Tonight I think I might look pretty
if you'd notice me, if you'd notice me
And tonight you drink, you got your eye on the door
And I'm startin' to wonder what are you waitin' for
What's out there and what do you see
that you can't see when you're right here with me
You don't know it yet, but I'm pretty sure
I'm leaving here alone, and I'm going home
You don't know it yet, but I do, I do
I'm think i'm already over you
I just gotta get around to telling you
I'm gonna walk home alone
Yeah, I'm going home
Tonight I think about this city
And she comforts me, she comforts me
And tonight I drink to what she gives me
And I'm startin to plan what I'll do with these hands
They can build anything on a shoestring
Well I'm always scraping by but at least I try
You don't know it yet, but I'm pretty sure
I'm leaving here alone, and I'm going home
You don't know it yet but I do I do
I think I'm already over you
I just gotta get around to telling you
I'm gonna walk home alone
Yeah I'm going home
it's so empty this feels so empty
My wine glass falls onto the floor
I am leaving, end of story
I'm not pretending anymore
You don't know it yet, but I'm pretty sure
I'm leaving here alone, and I'm going home
You don't know it yet but I do I do
I think I'm already over you
I just gotta get around to telling you
I'm gonna walk home alone
