Story Behind The Song
This song is from a two-volume project exploring and honoring the vocal work of the great jazz trumpeter Chet Baker - "Let's Fall in Love" and "It's Always You". I chose songs for this project that I felt could teach me how to incorporate some of the wonderful smooth coolness of Chet's voice into my own performance.
Song Description
A song about falling in love and feeling the object of your affections is out of your league. No chance for romance.

Lyrics
I need your love so badly
I love you oh so madly
But I don't stand a ghost of a chance with you
I thought at last I found you
But other loves surround you
And I don't stand a ghost of a chance with you
If you'd surrender
Just for a tender
Kiss or two
You might discover
That I'm the lover
Meant for you
And I'd be true
But what's the good of scheming
I'm dreaming
For I don't stand a ghost of a chance with you
'cause I don't stand
A ghost of a chance
With you
If you'd surrender
Just for a tender
Kiss or two
You might discover
That I'm the lover
Meant for you
And I'd be true
But what's the good of scheming
I'm dreaming
For I don't stand a ghost of a chance with you
'cause I don't stand
A ghost of a chance
With you
