Story Behind The Song

A few hours after receiving the news of Ben Blacks death, Jnew got into the studio and took one of Ben's unfinished tracks & developed it into his Debut Single called TEARs. "The first time Ben played this song for me I called it TEARs, ironically, I had no idea that they would be shed for my cuzZ WuZz. Real men cry especially when you lose someone you love. I will stop dreaming when I stop breathing, and it's only right that we celebrate the life of my cousin and other lives of love ones lost through music. If I had to describe this song in one word I would call it powerful. With being a new artist people want honesty, when life changing events occur in our lives, and when nothing else will help, we turn to music to uplift our defeated sprits. If I can catch two ears & help someone through there own moment in life that dictates TEARs, this song has accomplished its mission, proclaims Jnew."

Song Description

With the highly anticipated release of Jnew's first EP Catch Yo Ears (Like Fish on hooks) grief and tragedy was felt in the Dem Ductions camp with the unexpected death of Ben Black who was Jnew's cousin (cuzZ wuZz) & Co-Executive Producer of Catch Yo Ears. "We called each other Ben & Jerry," states Jnew, "we wanted the music to provide different flavors to your ears. Ben and I told each other in 2005, that we need to be so different that the world can't copy. So with this imbedded in our minds, we set out on the quest for quality which has no finish line; we focused in our passion and honed in on our crafts. Ben was with me at day one of Dem Ductions becoming my youthful dream, to the years of our hard work to turn Dem Ductions into a reality. My cuzZ WuZz ( Ben Black) believed in me before I even believed in myself, I lost more than a cousin but if I live right I will see him again."
