Story Behind The Song

Funny thing. One of my friends heard this song and commented, "You can't even grow a plant and you're talking about living on a farm and growing your own food?!" Well, that may be true now but I grew up in the Midwest and, until I embraced urban living, always had a garden so I could grow my own vegetables (with the help of others). This song's chorus, like so many, wrote itself and I just went along for the ride. Part of the song is autobiographical (my dad was a preacher and my mom a teacher) but most of it is fiction.
