Story Behind The Song
This day and age, everyone is always looking for the next best thing. I was shopping at a local warehouse store when a young man stopped me and asked me if it was time for me to upgrade my existing cell phone. From that simple statement, a song was born.

Lyrics
My cell phone started buzzin late one afternoon
A call from my provider telling me to come in soon
New phones are on the market, We've got em all displayed
It's time for an Upgrade
(chorus)
The one I have still works, but not like it did before
Why wait till it's on it's last leg and needs to be restored
I better get me a new one, so take this one in trade
It's time for an Upgrade
Next day I got a flyer about an auto loan
It said, Drive on down to our dealership
We make a new car easy to own
Just sign your name on the dotted line
No money needs to be paid
It's time for an Upgrade
chorus repeat
I was feelin pretty good about the new things I'd acquired
Got to lookin round my house to see what else had expired
There on the couch, I see something that needs improving
That man's been laying there all day when he should be up and moving
He's gotta go, I hope he don't feel betrayed
But It's time for an upgrade
The one I have still works, but not like he did before
Why wait till he's on his last leg and needs to be cared for
I better get me a new one that don't treat me like his maid
It's time for an Upgrade
It's time for an Upgrade
Yes it's time for an Upgrade
