Ode to the 51-L

Story Behind The Song

This song was originally called "An Ode to the LHB" (late-heavy bombardment). The 51-L was the Challenger mission. It was the first traumatic thing I can really remember happening in the world. But the song isn't about exploiting a tragedy, it's sort of a re-write on the whole day. The NASA audio clip in the song cuts off right after they clear the tower...and I'd like to think they made it through the whole mission, and you can envision video clips of them playing with zero gravity in space...
