Story Behind The Song
Strange, dark and haunting lyrics just came to my mind and I wrote them down in the moment. I was feeling a great sense of love and appreciation for a certain individual at the time. I then sat down with a guitar and strummed some chords until the main melody formalized.
I'm not sure if the lyrics were borne out of the fearing of losing that person or not. But I couldn't get the idea out of my head after coming up with it.

Lyrics
What if you died and went away
I'm not going to lie, I've seen it this way
And I know I'm losing my mind all of the time
And I know it's not really love if we can't let it grow
If I sang at your funeral
Would you come haunt me
Make me believe that you really want me
And I know I'm losing my mind all of the time
And I know it's really not love if we can't let it grow
If you really don't care
Just leave me right here
Kill me in your mind
Strike me blind
Waste me on the spot
I don't care if this is sane or not
Because I know I'm losing my mind all of the time
And I know it's really not love if we can't let it grow
If I sang at your funeral
Would you come haunt me
Make me believe that you really want me
And I know I'm losing my mind all of the time
And I know it's really not love if we can't let it grow
If I sang at your funeral
Would you come haunt me
Make me believe that you really want me
And I know I'm losing my mind all of the time
And I know it's really not love if we can't let it grow (if we can't let it go)
If I sang at your funeral
