Story Behind The Song

The story of how I wrote my song "Don't Let Go" Over forty years ago while trying to write a new song I came up with this verse: It started a long, long time ago This feeling inside that keeps hangin' on You may never return this I know But something keeps telling me don't let go, don't let go Of course, it was about an old flame but that was all I could come up with at the time. Through the years I would pull it out of the closet and tinker with it but just couldn't find the direction I wanted to go with it. About a month ago I pulled it out again and instead of looking at it from the point of view of an old flame I started looking at it as a not giving up angle. Especially since my heart issues a year and a half ago and not having the energy to play guitar or write new stuff for quite some time. So, I thought about how ever since I was young my dream was writing songs. Finding that one song that made me feel complete. I thought about how we all have dreams; we all have setbacks and heartaches in our lives. I thought about musicians I know that are my age and older that continue day in and day out playing music. I have so much respect for these people. They just "Don't Let Go"
