This world's full of temptations

in that moment
it's just defeat in disguise
that put some lipstick on
and if you take a taste
You might be laid to waste
when all that you really, truly loved is gone

Love's enemies are many
Lust begs you to play the field
but you can wind up not getting any
If you turn around and choose to yield
you'll lose more than half your money
that Allie mony is a bitch in heat
If you fool around with some honey
you might end up on the street
with half of nothing.......

There are other cruel addictions
that would love to suck you dry
alcohol, heroin and crack cocaine
all tempting you to just get high
But they'll also take your money
And leave you broker that you've ever been
booze is good in moderation
But man, drugs are gonna do you in

And though

that put some buzz kill on
and if you take a taste

Life's enemies are many

they love it when you've have plenty
and they'll take it in installment plans
from the government to your overdue rent
to that betterment you're trying to find
ya gotta pay your share cause they just don't care
every time you start to fall behind
The message of my song is
keep your morales strong
your enemies are many
Just waiting for you to do wrong
they step in and they step on
the dreams you long to chase
so never pay them extra
and keep them in their place
keep them outta of your face
and you can win that human race
otherwise you might wind up
just living in disgrace

and stay aware
keep what you've got
