Story Behind The Song
I listen to Top 40 a lot and lately there have been some not so great songs. Like all forms of art: to each his/her own. I found myself listening to the radio and hearing people refer to these lip synching artists as "legends." Even though I grew up worshiping the ground they walked on, I was shocked by how bad of a duet was now playing on the radio. We live in a universe where technology can completely take over the human voice. I think that effects are awesome and should be used, but when it comes to live performance: how does that translate for your audience? Why are people paying hundreds of dollars to watch someone not sing. Our job as singers/performers: we sing live and we make great music. If we are not doing that, there is something seriously wrong with the industry. I'd rather forget a lyric to let you know: I'm human.
Song Description
This is a great duet with my partner-in-crime, Sun Voyage (producer, singer, musician) and we share a lot of the same views on music.
As a performer I was heavily influenced by many pop artists growing up and now with so much technology those same artists have become lazy. As an artist I pose simple questions for the general public:
How much auto-tune do you really need?
How many effects do you need?
How repetitious do you want your chorus to be?
How mindless can a hit song be on today's Top 40?
When's the last time you heard a song that made you think, baby?
I simply want people to enjoy what they are listening to but at the same time let's make them think. And not so much thinking that it damages the integrity of the song. I like to songs that do both make you think and make you have fun.
There has to be passion and sometimes with all that money being passed around between record companies and artists we forget our one job: make great music!

Lyrics
Mindless music makes you move
Mindless music makes you move
Get up on the dance floor
Get up on the dance floor
Mindless music makes you move
Mindless music makes you move
Get up on the dance floor
Get up on the dance floor
When's the last time you heard a song
That made you move baby
When's the last time you heard a song
That made you think baby
All... I... Hear... Is...
CHORUS:
Get on the mic and then repeat that
Get on the mic and then repeat that
Get on the mic and then repeat that
Mindless music makes you move
Get on the mic and then repeat that
Get on the mic and then repeat that
Get on the mic and then repeat that
Mindless music makes you move
Fix me! Fix me!
Mindless music makes you famous
Mindless music makes you famous
Get up on the dance floor
Get up on the dance floor
When's the last time you heard a song
That made you move baby
When's the last time you heard a song
That made you think baby
BRIDGE:
No disrespect to these artists in question
But there's disrespect to the world, it's perfection
I find myself laughing at the greats who you mention
When did we become lazy in our own ascension
I love my technology, I love my effects
But they are my back up, not my vocal reflex
Calling out the ones only here for your paychecks
Music is freedom, not a slave to your vortex
All... You... Hear... Is
(CHORUS)
When's the last time...
Break me down
Mindless music makes you move
Mindless music makes you move
Get up on the dance floor
Get up on the dance floor
Could you drop that auto-tune on my voice
I don't have to sing live, you have already made your choice
You wanna hear me sing a different song
But it's all you ever play on the radio
