Story Behind The Song
When rap first came out it was mostly anger. I wrote this song praising rock over rap. I've sat on it nearly 40 years, but I guess no one will kill me now that rap has morphed into hip hop and it's sub genres. :)
Song Description
Not much to add from the above. I don't mean to diss rappers in general. Was just being playful and reapeating what a lot of "rockers" were saying at the time. The were screaming that rock would never day and that rap was a flash in the pan. Seems rock has morphed into many sub genres and rap into hip hop and it's sub genres so both were wrong. That's the way of the world isn't it?

Lyrics
Are you ready for love and romance?
Grab a lover. Take a chance
Right now you gotta get up and dance
Let's rock
Don't play me any rap
Bad ass anger. Who needs that crap?
We'll rock and roll it right off the map
Let's rock
Rock and roll
Rock and roll
Rock and roll
Let's rock
Play me a rock and roll song
That sound will never be wrong
Thank God that rock is still strong
Let's rock
It's for the young but you're never too old
Rock's tale is still being told
This music's fire will never grow cold
Let's rock
Come on and get up and dance
It's time for love and romance
Ooh baby, let's rock
It's such a magical sound
And I know where it can be found
Oh it will always be around
Let's rock
It makes you want to cry
It makes you want to fly
Oh it will never die
Let's rock
That technorap you hear in town
It 'ain't much of a sound
I'm tellin' you it's goin' down
Let's rock
Hey everybody let's sing it along
Let's rock
Oh, oh, oh, oh, it's into your soul
That's where it goes
Let's rock
Rock and roll
