Story Behind The Song
The song was written for a track created by producer David Kennedy. Cezar wrote the song based on a deck of cards after constant inundation with poker reruns as he channel surfed. It struck a subliminal chord which came out during the course of writing the song.
Song Description
Using a deck of cards as an analogy "Keep On (The Game of Life)" is an uplifting song of perseverance and determination. The variation and differences between the lives of all people are looked at through references to the "hands" which are dealt to people, with some having great advantge, others disadvantage, yet everyone having to play. Played well enough, or lived well enough, a bad hand may well defeat a good one.

Lyrics
KEEP ON (The Game of Life)
Well in the game of life let me tell you what the case is
some people got bad hands, some people got aces.
Some people got diamonds and some people got spades still,
the world keeps moving on.
You've got the Kings and Queens and Jacks of all trades
and the rest make up the numbers trying to get paid.
They could be working as a pair or as a group co-opertating,
and some just doing wrong.
You have the Joker in the club but they're just pertending.
Drinking and living it up, has no time for thinking,
if the money's ever done they'd be quickly sinking
but they just keep groooving on - no matter who you are...
You, you've got to (just got to) keep on trying
and keep doing the best with the hand that you get
and don't give up that fight
No, no, no you -
Can't stop, you can't weep, can't keep on crying
Just keep doing your best, you know life is a test
and it's gonna be alright
Some people living in a fullhouse with one bag of youths
making it hand to mouth and you know that's the truth.
But the love inside their hearts is a food substitute
and they make it on through - now how about you?
If you're born without a gold spoon there's no time to waste
because the road is rocky and winding - make haste.
And while you're bending those corners, my youths you stay straight
and just hold the faith you'll make it through the gate.
Don't get lost in the crush - if you stumble don't drop.
Don't you flush all your dreams if the journey gets tough.
At the ending of the day it's Jah face we're going touch
and He knows the flop - so you don't give up...
No You, you've got to (just got to) keep on trying
and keep doing the best with the hand that you get
and don't give up that fight
No, no, no you -
Can't stop, you can't weep, can't keep on crying
Just keep doing your best, you know life is a test
and it's gonna be alright.
I know how you feel - cuz most never get a fair deal.
You have to fight or beg, borrow, steal
and it's so hard just to get a good meal - yeah.
I know all you want, is a fair chance to get to the top.
You have to keep on climbing nonstop.
Hold some.
Fold some.
GO ON...
Oh oh, You, you've got to (just got to) keep on trying
and keep doing the best with the hand that you get
and don't give up that fight
No, no, no you -
Can't stop, you can't weep, can't keep on crying
Just keep doing your best, you know life is a test
and it's gonna be alright
