These Times Ain't Easy

Song Description

Freedom is not free and freedom and survival on the sreets on your own will be hard. There's lots of people who will try and bring you down to their level or use you for their own benefit or deceive you to further their own ends. It comes down to how bad you want it. "Do you want more than survival or are you satisfied to crawl". Lyrics

These Times Ain't Easy

This song was written for and dedicated to YWAM, the northern California chapter of Youth With A Mission, whose goals include helping get the homeless kids off the streets of San Francisco and other area cities.

Chorus;

These Times Ain't Easy
Now that you're livin' on your own
These Times Ain't Easy
You're so far away from home
These Times Ain't Easy
People tryin' to drag you down
These Times Ain't Easy
Yeah, it just ain't easy

Verse 1;

First time out on your own, it was time to get away
But, it's so hard to survive, you struggle each and every day
The people on the street they'll shake your hand, but, watch your back
If you believe in what they say they'll have you runnin' with the pack

Verse 2;

The junkies and the pimps, the tweakers and the whores
They take all that they can and then come back for more
They'll spin their webs of deceit, tell you how easy it will be
Just surrender to the street, just surrender and you'll see
(Chorus)

Verse 3;

How bad do you want it, freedom on your own
You'll have to face the nights to come sometimes lost and all alone
What choices will you make just to keep your dreams alive
Will you fight for your beliefs or just give up and let them die
(Chorus)

Bridge;

Life's success is what you make it, take the chance, answer the call
Do you want more than survival or are you satisfied to crawl
Through the years will you look back and regret the choices made
Or will you stand and fight the battles, all alone , but, not afraid
Not afraid......(Inst) (Chorus)

Outro Chorus;

These Times Ain't Easy
Now that you're livin' on your own
These Times Ain't Easy
You're so far away from home
These Times Ain't Easy
People tryin' to drag you down
These Times Ain't Easy
You know, it just ain't easy
To be free........
