I have always been drawn to walk the beach when I am happy, sad, confused, stressed out, etc. Walking in the surf, regardless of the temperature, immerses me in the elements of earth: water, sand, wind, sound, and reconnects me to my source. Regardless of the events happening in my life, I recognize it as a tide that will come and go, like birth and death, joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain, love and loss. I have learned to go with the flow.
