8 Ball is an 8 song concept album revolving around these manic questions that float around in all our psyches, similar to a magic 8 ball from the 70's. These fight or flight responses take up so much of our mental space. This album is about high's and low's, the adrenaline/chase of life vs the loss that can follow you if you let it. These songs can be heavy, exploring themes of mental struggles and escapism while still having a lightness and naivety to them. Balancing sonic highs and euphoric crashes, 8 Ball is a gritty breakneck ride driven through a hiphop lens. Drenched in pop sensibility, Andre Mohring (Baby Keem, Big Sean) helped coat 8 Ball in it's metallic shine. At its core, this record, written from the ground up in Los Angeles, takes emo and hiphop sensibilities from the Y2K era and covers them in a synthetic alt/hyperpop casing. Featuring saw like synths and intoxicating arps, OVO driven melodies and lofi rhythms, not to mention artist features from legendary players: Horace Bray on Burnout and Dimitri Smith on Legacy.
