BRIEF MUSICAL BIO
Trained in classical piano, music theory, and musical theatre, Claudia Mikail is dedicated to writing contemporary songs that are musically sound and lyrically powerful.
Her song "In a Million Years from Now" was a finalist in the 2015 Songdoor International Music Competition, 2014 Great American Song Contest, and performed at the 2012 LA Jewish Film Festival.
Her song "New Year's in Manhattan" was a finalist in the 2013 Great American Song Contest and featured on the Radio Airplay Holiday Channel.
Her song "Every Time You Smile" won the 2013 Kick-ASCAP-2 songwriting contest, ranking #1 on the Country Charts on HomeGrownHits.com.
Her tune, "Christmas in NYC" was a finalist in the 2012 Great American Song Contest (Special Category), made the Top 200 on Jango (now Radio Airplay), and was featured on their holiday channel.
Other awards include: the SUNY Purchase Music Composition Contest, New York State Music Composition Contest, and Newsday Talent Competition, for which she was featured on the news.
A native New Yorker, Claudia studied piano and music theory at the Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale and the Germaine Pinault School of Music in Long Island. She trained in musical theatre at the YM-YWHA in Scarsdale and the USDAN Center for the Performing Arts in Long Island, inspiring an even greater love for songwriting.
Claudia received her BA, summa cum laude, from Princeton University, where she studied music composition and wrote for The Triangle Club, taking her songs on tour all over the U.S.A. She's also studied hit songwriting and music publishing at UCLA with top talent.
