Story Behind The Song
I used to see people on the street and would want to help somehow so I wrote a song to get people to relate with the folks in need.

What Matters
by Jonathan Ditto
Copyright 2013
I see the rain slowly pouring in
I taste the pain, you know I can't seem to win
I think its time to start again
To redefine what matters.
I used to do those things that seemed like they mattered
Now I just don't know?
All (my) those things just seemed to have scattered
Where did they go?
Am I just getting by, or making that step?
Am I just buying time, till life is spent?
Did I truly do what matters?
I must make up my mind, enjoy this life that is lent.
Because it's not only mine,
Im only paying the dimes on the rent.
Cleanse the burden off my back, the unwanted taste
How can I even complain, while people in the street are laying in waste?
Will you look into their eyes, or avoid that dark space?
Do they know what matters?
Forgive them and yourself, begin to move along
It could seem as if you lost your dream
But I know it is still there, and begin to care,
Even if it seems unfair.
And do what matters.
