Excellent acoustic guitar layering! Very tasteful violin track. The upright bass sound fit this tune perfectly. This song is so"listenable". Nice lead vocal. I really liked the addition of the backing vocal. The recording quality and overall mix was very well done.
Interesting bass riff for the intro. Pleasing violin and guitar instrumentation kicks this song off. It's a sad story of a guy who is saying goodbye to a friend/lover who has made choices that draw her away from him into a new chapter. Unique use of light/dark/shadows imagery. The first verse is your strongest storytelling point. Really like those lyrics "start in the middle or skip to the end." Very original thought.
I love your song, voice, lyrics, ....... I would love to work with you......
Very soulful song with instrumentation that is just right for the piece. Brings thoughts to me of Gordon Lightfoot, with a touch of Harry Chapin and Jim Croce. Really nice piece.
Good presentation.
Wow - what a nicely done song! Performance, arrangement, vocal quality - all are excellent! I also like the lyrics. I felt they were descriptive without getting the listener "bogged down." I felt the rhythm guitar was done so nicely and the picking pattern was perfect! The harmony vocals were also nicely done. Overall, Great Song!
Nice music. A good arrangement. I've heard this type of "goodbye song" before, and this is a good one.
I love the lyrics to this tune. I can hear it in a movie
Fine Instrumentation and lovely vocal. Kinda reminds us of Jimmy Fortune.
love the hook line of "only when the shadow's just right"...a great line, indeed.
Great vocal and arrangement. Great instrumentation. Great song!
Nice vocal range, and a good organic feel to this song. I could hear it in a movie or ambiance setting. Nice first lines.
Very beautiful song! Love the lyrics and the finger-picking guitar style. It has a Jim Croce feel.
