Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song for a minister friend of mine named Robert Roberts for his sermon at the United Methodist Church in Lewiston, Idaho. Then, I met Wendell Noble who sings with the Platters on tour in places like Las Vegas and we co-produced a CD called Cast Out The Demons. This song was intended for a follow-up album which is still in process.

Lyrics
Open Your Eyes
When you walk up the street with the sun in your eyes,
There's a sparkle in the dew and there's blue in the skies.
You see the leaves rustling. Don't be surprised.
God's beauty is all around just Open your eyes.
Chorus:
Open your eyes.
Just, open your eyes.
Wake up from your sleep.
Don't be unwise.
God's love is all around you from the ground to the skies.
It's easy to find, just open your eyes.
There were men who were blind about two thousand years ago.
Jesus came to Earth just to spread around God's glow.
He walked up to the blind, touched them on their eyes.
Then He said, "Now you can see. Just open your eyes."
Chorus
Be careful how you live your life. Try to be wise.
Make the most of opportunity. God knows when you lie.
Be filled with the Spirit. Sing hymns and glorify.
Glorify your God and open your eyes.
Chorus
When your world's at an end and you give up this life,
If you believe in God's word and you ignored all the lies,
You will wake up in Heaven and you'll hear God say, "Arise!
Wake up from your sleep and open your eyes."
Chorus
Open your eyes.
Just, open your eyes.
Wake up from the dead.
Stand up and arise.
God's love is all around you from the ground to the skies.
It's easy to find, just open your eyes.
