Many of the songs featured here were originally written for a 'girl-band' project that never materialised.

The songs deal with a wide range of real-life situations from the hard-nosed reality of "Modern Woman" to the nurturing softness of "If You Lived In My Heart", all the while underpinned by the no-nonsense funk grooves of the Doghouse Studio Band, including guitarist Lew Terry and sax player Jez Guest, whose track "Unwind" has proven to be one of the most popular on the site.
